I believe one’s soul must return to a new body after death until you get it right and conduct an honorably life as a kind and giving person before the soul is allowed to rest in peace.  These sculptures depict moments in life's transitions.

OUR BLUE PLANET: Global Visions of Water

I'll be in the panel discussion in the SAM Forum on April 7 at 2:30pm.

74 artist from across the globe are included in this exhibit.  My works 400 Men of African Descent and 200 women of African Descent have been configured to depict how stolen Africans were transported cross the Atlantic Ocean to enslavement in the Americas. 12 million souls survived the Middle Passage; 3 million did not.

48 modern and contemporary artists this exhibition which presents an opportunity to examine previous misconceptions, question racist clichés, and draw attention to the multiple communities and histories that continue to form this iconic region of the United States.  My installation in the museum hallway is where visitors can post notes about their personal connection to the region.

About Marita

Dingus attended Tyler School of Art at Temple University in Philadelphia (BFA, 1980) and San Jose State University (MFA, 1985). She has received:
